Mycelium have been transforming organisms of these infected for many weeks. Their body has swollen, and the mature fruiting bodies started producing dense clouds that spread the spores for many meters around the infected.

The spores float in the air virtually invisible. They can only be seen in bright sunlight, but by then it is usually too late for anyone who noticed them.

The best method of eliminating these infected is to lure them out into the open air and deal with them from a safe distance.
Additional safety equipment like breathing masks or full hazmat suits are also often used.
