         BAMU AND THE MAN WITH NO         
                           SCRUPLES 

Chief Jadu was a popular man in the country. He was very rich and had a large estate. He was also very influential because he had access to the corridors of power.

Chief Jadu was a bad example for the upcoming generation because he was one of the few highly influential people that plunged the country into trouble through his corrupt activities such as smuggling, importation of fake and substandard products and drug trafficking. No matter the evil he did, he always got away with it.
In fact, nobody dared confront him, including the police and other law enforcement agencies. Whoever tried it paid dearly.

Chief Jadu was not bothered about his integrity and a good name. He could use any means to achieve his desire, not minding the consequences. He would go into any business provided it would bring money. He was a politician, a drug baron and a contractor. On several occasions, Chief Jadu won contracts and having collected the money, refused to execute them. Yet, nobody deemed it fit to probe him.

Similarly, Chief Jadu had many boys he used as thugs. Many jobless youths had turned his house to their abode where they ate freely and he also gaVe them money Indian hemp and other hard drugs were common things at Chief Jadu' 3 house. His boys freely indulged in them.

Unfortunately, not even the police had the effrontery to Challenge them. With those free benefits from Chiefs house, the boys Were his committed thugs and errand boys.

Politically, Chief Jadu was very strong. Many people seeking political offices depended on his thugs for victory at elections: Chief Jadu, through activities of his thugs always did. everything to rig elections. He always forcefully imposed candidates on the masses.

Politicians had turned his house to their
mecca. They Were always there to lobby for Chief Jadu‘s support so that he could pick them as his
candidate at elections, knowing fully well that once that happened, they would win.

Besides the activities of his political thugs, Chief Jadu could spend any amount as bribes to rig an election for his candidates. He made sure his candidates occupied political offices for protection and cover-up of his many evil acts. Chief Jadu would never take “anything as compensation from any politician other than award of contracts which he would not execute, and total support for his drug trafficking business.

One particular year Chief Jadu imported some fake drugs into the country. Many Sick children fell victim. They died after being treated with one of the drugs. That year, everybody frowned at the incident including government officials but when it was discovered that Chief Jadu was responsible for the act, the case was swept under the carpet by those in power.

Another time, one of his boys was caught at the airport trafficking cocaine abroad. The then director of security who dared him and vowed to follow the case up to a logical end was sacked for failing to obey orders from above and the boy later released.

Although many people knew all these, they were helpless to do anything about it. They left everything to God to judge believing that one day nemesis would catch up with Chief.

Meanwhile, Bamu admired Chief Jadu. He
loved his way of life and aspired to be like him. He believed he was a great man. One day, he decided to get closer. So, he headed for his house.

At Chief Jadu‘s house,' Bamu was surprised to see how people daily visited his house for one thing or the other. Later, he had the opportunity to meet with Chief jadu. He was pleased with the warm reception he received from the Chief.

Thereafter, he became a regular caller at his place. Chief J adu having observed him closely developed 'nterest in him. He saw the promise in him and decided to introduce him into to better business practice than the Internet scam he was into.
