As an Igbo boy, first thing I did was punch my calculator to get the exact figure of the amount in my local currency. You know it's easier for me to plan and relate with that.
1 million dollar goingg by the $1 - 1 thousand naira is valued at a billion naira. Boy! That is a lot and could sustain myself, even my family for a long while.
Having that amount might go a long way but be guided that it is largely dependent on how I utilize it. Excessively spending it, especially on the wrong things or absolutely unnecessary frivolities in a country like mine with poor economy like mine can just see to ithat it disappears faster that it came.
All the things I need, as does my family face just the hindrance that is money. So most likely, this would be a blessing that would bring all that needs and dreams to fulfillment.
This is a little hasty although I sense there might be such opportunities with conditions that immediate plans and decisions are made. Below will be a top-off-my-head list of some of the things that I will do with the money. Not sure how that would apply if I am actually getting the money. Might take me a day, maybe even a week to make a plan. Like a meme making the rounds, "I'll first get in the shower, scream, cry hard and then let the water from the shower wash away poverty ad lack the final time" lol.
Here's my list for $1 million dollars;
Invest in shares and stocks
This I would do without putting a thought. These are long term investments that I already love as I am. My dad talks about the benefits he receives from shares he bought years ago. I'd just look out for good companies and put some money there.
Invest in Hive*
Although I have little knowledge of this platform. I know for sure that it is a goldmine . I look forward to being a whale sometime soon and putting in some money here might just be beneficial to getting there
Start a football academy
I love football with every fiber of my being. Don't think that this means I'd be opening a very massive academy. LMAO. My money would not be enough. My plans are to start little with training young kids who have an interest in the game. That would be the start of something, and who knows, from there shall arise A-list world players.
**Buy property/Start a business
The igbo-ism in me would not let me miss this. Lol. I have no idea what business that might be but first, I'd purchase a land or two and build shopping complex and/or houses for rent. These would generate returns overtime. And land does not depreciate. You see, two birds, one stone.
Chop life
This here would be the first thing to do. Take out some little amount, and treat my family to a vacation and the good life. They deserve it. It'll be an occasional happening as we begin to see returns from investments.
Those are just what came to mind first. Might not exactly go as written when the money is in hand but, who knows?
