Change is the only thing that is constant as we know , and we hope the change continues to bring good changes that will help make the world 🌎 a better place. And one of this change we have seen in this recent times is “Remote Jobs”. A work from home system where employees works from home, coffee shop or any where conducive for them.
With this new opportunities for many in this era, I suddenly remembered my days of 8:00 - 5:00 , when working physically in the office space was the order of survival. Then I have to always woke up at 5 :00 am everyday as a working mother to put one or two things together before rushing out before 6:30 am to be able to meet up with my company staff bus 🚌 that must be at the pick point at 6:30 am dot.
The reason for this early pick up is for us to avoid the Third Mainland Bridge 🌉 hold up traffic in Lagos Nigeria 🇳🇬. A bridge that connects the Island 🏝 where my office was then, and the mainland. This traffic can last for hours in those days. So leaving early makes it easier for most companies because before 7:00 or 7:10 am, we are already in the office, maybe taking a little nap 😴 again before work resumes at 8:00 am.
And you can imagine what this kind of traditional system of work structure can cause many individuals who goes on with the system week to week and month to month without good pay. And the cooperate bodies that must continue to make sure work must go on no matter what ever.
Remote job is what many are longing for now because it has proved that its the best with all the opportunities that comes with it. You don’t need to spend transportation if you are working remote. The days are gone when organizations proves staff bus 🚌 for its employees. You don’t need to wake up by 5:00 am if work starts at 8:00 am. And I have even seen someone who is working remote that starts work by 10:00 pm to 3:00 am because her job is connected to America 🇺🇸. So she practically sleeps from early in the morning and all through the day. This kind of remote job proves you the opportunity to even work two jobs if you have the strength. There is just no rush of any kind but just having your Laptop 💻.
What Effect Will Remote Jobs Have On The Corporate World In The Future:
We all know that there are still jobs that can not be done remotely, which are jobs like doctors 👩⚕️ in the hospitals, mechanical problems for car 🚗 repairs, site construction 🚧 for engineers 👩💻 , fashion designers will never be remote and so on, because these areas needs face to face managing to provide results. So this area of jobs will continue traditionally without any hindrance from remote systems.
And with remote, organizations will have the opportunity of cutting costs on things like buying a big office building, reducing electricity bills since they might just decide to rent a small office space where workers comes in twice a week for crucial face to face discussion and decision making.
Manpower will reduce since jobs will be assigned properly, make everyone be serious with what is assigned to them , unlike when many people are employed, working physically but not productive. Have you seen them in some corporate companies where employees literally do nothing because they came into the company through connection. So , in this regard its the company that will benefit without loss.
However, remote will definitely not take over work system all over the world 🌍 because in some countries, physical work is what holds the economy. So traditional work system will never be faced out entirely. In my country Nigeria 🇳🇬, its very difficult to be employed remotely. Although some companies are gradually making their workers work three day physical and two days remote due to how the economy is becoming. With this system, both the remote and traditional work system will have a way to balance together.
