Awareness I have come to understand is the best and one simple way we can clearly be informed of a certain thing or things that can help us know when things are not right, and not in proper condition, especially things that has to do with our wellbeing.
You see , we feel that we are okey and healthy once we get up every morning, being on our feet and running our errands. Yes! We are definitely okay because we feel strong and moving. But then, most times we ignore those little headaches we feel from time to time, thinking it’s from fatigues. And we just decide to take analgesic to calm them down.
Other times, we could feel some slight feverish 🥵 conditions, and again, we go for an over the counter drugs to put it away without any prescription , seeing a doctor for check ups, or going to the Laboratory to run a test. And gradually, we don’t know that we might be in jeopardy with our health.
And even those of us who takes out time to visit the clinic, sometimes are not properly attended to by the health personals, which is where we have the worst problems. A situation that might make ones illness not quickly identified and which can lead to some certain diseases to keep spreading.
My congregation lost a young girl of about 21 years two (3) days ago. A beautiful young that was full of life , but was having this headache often times. And because she was young , the parents never thought of anything so serious that might be wrong with. As a student, it might just be some stress from reading or examination overload. So they will administer some pain killer.
But then , with time the headache continued and she started to complain of visual problems , which made the case a serious one. The parents with this took her to one of the good hospitals for proper check up which lead to the discovery of an eye 👁 tumor. And after several test , she was booked for an operation . An operation her parents never expected .
And because of the cost 💲 of this kinds of operation, her parents started running up and down to raise the money 💰 which involves millions. And eventually, she was able to go for the operation that was successful. Came out fine and was recovering. But sometimes earlier in the week, she had a serious lapses that might have affected here brain function and that was how she gave up.
It’s only the doctors that can explain it better since the eye tumor connection to the brain might have affected some veins and arteries which needs to take some time to recover before normal flow starts again. Or that because of how the operation was not carried out immediately after the tumor was discovered, some damages might have taking place.
Not that we should always link any fever or headache to something serious, but taking out time to properly go for a check up is one big move to prevent a cure. And this moves most times helps us to spend less. “Prevention Is Better Than Cure”
