As a mother of two kids, now two grown beautiful teenager girls, I can tell you that there is nothing like “this is a kid” therefore leave him or her to behave anyway they choose or like, because that is not the best attitude to raising up children 👦. A popular well known musician 👨🎤 , a Reggae Star, Bob Marley sang and said “Give them an inch, they will take a mile”. And this is what we do when we leave our children starting from when they are just toddlers.
I mean, the Bible already said we should “bring up a child the way he or she should grow”, because when they are grown and even taller than us their parents, they will ever hardly depart from those good behaviors they were brought up with. So I believe in correcting a child from toddler age, because that is when they start to learn.
Children will always watch others , learning the good and the bad, which is why as parents, we are the first people they emulate from. If we parents are constantly showing good examples to our kids, they certainly begin to grow in a way that we will not have much trouble bringing them up , and verse vasa is the opposite . And by doing this means that we will always caution them when they go out of the way, trying to make them understand what is wrong and what is right. So scolding children is the first thing to do when they misbehave, allowing them the chance to know that such behavior is bad. This then will give them the chance to think. And when correction is not taking over the time, punishments becomes the next option to take.
Punishment is one thing children don’t like, so when parents are very strict in giving punishments to their wards, they tend to know when not to go over the limits. And punishments sometimes must not be by physically spanking a child at all times. It can be by denying him or her what they like to eat, no snacks for school lunch or no game playing or cartoons watching. These are minor ways to hold children to ransom to behave better.
My girls understands me immediately I wink 😉 my eyes 👀 in the public. Meaning don’t misbehave. Or, an ordinary frowning 😾 tells them something is wrong 😑. And I must not speak for them to know when to do what is needed. So I feel its in our hands to lay these footsteps for our children and starting early is the key 🔑 because children don’t forget what they see or hear from tender age.
And one thing parents don’t know is that when we over pampers our children as rewards by giving them all they demand or gifting them at all times, we are not laying a good foundation because their is time for everything. I use to buy to much of toys for my girls at their tender age , but at time passes, I consented only to buying what I know they needed as I watch what their interest in on. This helped them to develop their intentions on their course of study 📚 early enough.
Over pampering and always wanting to reward a child makes too expectant even when not necessary. The balance I believe is little scoldings, little punishments and little rewards. The most important is showing a child that he or she is loved 🥰 as this creates room for parents and children relationships. Closeness that brings bonding and no anxiety 😥 or fear 😨 in them to stay away from you, especially those that can develop trauma of any kind.
In conclusion, punishments at all time is not the best way to bring up children, but that does not mean correction is not vital. In fact, punishments might hardens them and makes them toughens over time, but it surely will provide a better part in life for them. As parents, we need to be mild with our kids and at the same time teach them that life might become difficult with time if they are carried away. so we can through correcting them have better understanding of who they will become, especially in the areas of zodiac signs and temperaments that rules human behaviors.
