"As the harvest season is over the cold and dark autumn is already creeping upon us. In October, the Hunter's Moon sits high atop the sky, bathing the landscape in its eerie bright light. The hunters would welcome this change which gives them a better chance of catching their next prey. Meanwhile, the people sit by candle light in their cottages on the edge of the forest, awaiting their soon return. Deep inside the woods, others bide their time.
Bloodmoon is a thematic album and was compiled from various projects recorded in the autumn and winter of 2009 and 2010. It ventures deep into the enigmatic Scandinavian woods in search of the mysterious and sometimes frightening creatures living there. Endless vistas of pine and evergreen cling to the old rocks and hills. Bloodmoon is a very strong and primal experience." - GTERMA press release

Richard Gürtler "Bloodmoon" is permeated by incredibly beautiful and scenic Northern forest landscapes, and attractively displayed by its cover images. Mathias Grassow has emerged his musical voyage more than 26 years ago and we, drone purveyors, are still journeying with him. "Bloodmoon" requires several repeated, deeply immersing listening sessions (headphones are recommended!!!), but then it's a fully rewarding experience. Yes, this is another big one from The Drone Medicine Man!!!
