I too have the blue hydrangea bushes as well as the limelight tree. I do believe that they propagate them onto what they call a standard to create the tree itself. I am not positive on that but it may be the case. I have had this tree for over 10 years now and just love it dearly. Here is one of my blue bushes in the rainfall.
