It has snowed more in the past month than in the past three years. This is my 2 layer cold frame with some of the snowfall on top.
This was three or so days later and it just keeps on coming.
My husband has been doing his best to keep up with all the clearing, but he is exhausted.
Here he is taking the heavy snow off of the Hemlock before any branches break.
He has had to snowblow paths for Mika every other day so she can go out in the yard.
Today, we have sunshine for the first time in days and some of the snow is compacting. He has tried to rake snow from the edge of the roofline to help the ice melt.
Look at the size of that icicle hanging from my front entrance. All the gutters around the house are full of ice and it is super thick. We are hoping the sun melts it away this week with the warming temperatures.
I always start up my little greenhouse the first week of March and hope the nighttime temps stay above freezing.
Some of my seedlings are getting big and would prefer being outside in the real light.
The hot peppers are doing very well and will need to be up-potted before taking them to the greenhouse. They germinated very quickly this year due to using a heat mat, now they are larger than I normally have at this point.
All the cabbage and Brussels sprouts are getting large, too. I should have waited until the middle of February to start them. Here's hoping that the weather takes a turn for the better and I can start taking them to the greenhouse. For now, all I can do is monitor the nighttime temperatures with the remote meter. Here's hoping for the best.
