Wow, it is so nice that your helper can help you with the seeding and moving the trays around. That is a lot of work and tough on the back. Mine was so sore from standing and transplanting three trays

I would clean them well with lemon juice and baking soda, rinse with vinegar and let them dry well. Then rub them good with Mineral Oil. It will help them last longer. I have a crack in one of mine too.

I agree, the cast iron lasts for generations. I will pass them on to my daughter when I am through with them. Glad you have your moms too.

It's too bad it hurts your shoulder when doing the boards. I take my time and it isn't too bad when I am through.
