Pieces of ruin in Roman Forum, Rome, Italy. The Forum was the jewel of the Roman Empire, the once mighty empire which claimed the entire Mediterranean Sea. The beautiful buildings had marble facades with inscriptions, telling the story of the particular building, who built it and what it is for etc. Now just a few letters survived.
