My sketch: Southern Wall, Temple Mount, Jerusalem, Israel.
The southern wall has several ancient doorways, all of them are clocked up. These were the ancient passage for people to go up to the Temple Mount, with broad stone stairway which would be a great place for people to relax and to enjoy the crowd watching.
The Jewish Temple is long gone, destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.
There is now an Islamic museum and a mosque, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the southern area of the Temple Mount. And further up in the center of the Temple Mount Platform is the Dome of the Rock.
Presently, all the area outside the Southern Wall is part of an Archaeological Park. We can pay a fee then take the time to wander around the ancient ruins.
