My sketch: the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Wailing Wall is called HaKotel in modern Hebrew, it is a stretch of ancient retaining wall, behind the wall is the ancient Temple Mount, the place where the Temple was built. This is the Temple of the Bible, the one that King David prepared and his son Solomon built for the monotheistic God, who reveals His name as YHWH. In modern Biblical scholarship, the name is transliterated as Yahweh. After the Temple was destroyed by the Roman soldiers in 70AD, the only remaining structure is this stretch of stone wall, therefore the Jews revere it , and hold it as the closest spot to the ancient Temple where they can now pray in public.
The round dome behind is the Dome of the Rock.
我的素描：以色列耶路撒冷的哭墙。
哭墙用现代希伯来语叫做HaKotel，它是一段古老的挡土墙，后面是古代的圣殿山。就是圣经里的圣殿，是大卫王所预备，并由他儿子所罗门为独一真神YHWH建造的，中文圣经把名字误译为耶和华。在现代的圣经学者中，这个名字被译成雅伟(Yahweh)。
在公元70年罗马士兵毁坏了圣殿之后，唯一剩下的结构就是这段石墙，所以犹太人敬仰它，并且把它当作最靠近古圣殿的地标，现在他们可以在公开地祷告。
后面的圆顶是岩石圆顶寺。
