This magnificent building is first built in the 530s, that is almost 1500 years old. It is built as a church at that time and remained as a church for close to a thousand years, then when Istanbul (then called Constantinople) fallen to the Muslims in 1450s, it is turned into a mosque. And now with the Turkey Republic, it is now a museum. Those it is called a museum, there isn't much artifacts nor displays to look at, but just the building itself is the main delight.
The grand hall inside is one giant open space without columns, it has a huge dome ceiling, supported by semi domes, It is just amazing to be inside.
Many mosques copied the same design concept and the structure of the Hagia Spohia, including the famous Blue mosque nearby.
