I think all generations have some sort of romance with the prior generation at some point. I remember in my late twenties the music of the early sixties becoming nostalgic, you had bars opening up with sixties styles vehicles being framed in somehow, or the old sixty style furnishings, and dancing on top tabletops became a thing again. Reruns of shows like Happy Days were pretty common fair to re-watch on cable rerun channels. Even today, all these rehabilitations of old downtown buildings into re-use for apartments while keeping much of their character intact, is much of the same, a lot of times being named after the original founders.
