I can't see how you could miss the issue when it finally came to a head when Vivek came straight out, and Elon also, and said Americans feel entitled and are lazy. Elon even said he was going to do unimaginable things to Americans if they try and interfere with HB1, or whatever visa number he quoted. What you are trying to say is that people's fears were unfounded but in the end was that so? I'd say some people are fully capable of reading between the lines and their fears were warranted if someone from the top echelon tells them he will f them up in their face. It really doesn't get more honest than that.
