Jared Kushner on MBS:
"I think the cool thing is we're just getting warmed up. You think about these projects he's a very out of the box thicker, eh, I see that he's getting better and better, the ministers around him, again, it's like sitting with a leadership team of a start up, their getting better and better, they're competitive with each other ut in a friend way and I think there's a real ambition and appetite for risk there that you don't see in a lot of countries that have the resources, and you think about the location, they have access in the gulf right now, which is so bullish, there you have access to the Asian market where there's massive, massive growth, so you look at the circumference around them them and there's four billion people, you got established markets, you got emerging markets, you have net surplus because of their oil trade. They're making massive investments in their renewable. They're being a true leader on a lot of fronts and I think that's very exciting so I was very, without him, I don't think we'd been to turn the tide in the region. I am still very optimistic talking about the funding with Israel, I don't think now it's a question of if, but when, how and for what."
Interviewer to Kushner:
"You have this line in the book where you say why recognizing Israel's annexation of the Gollan was a powerful opportunity to stand for the truth. That felt like very moral language, for example, I don't imagine you'd say, oh so lets also stand for the truth, if the fact, you know, the one China policy, doesn't make any sense in direction, so it shouldn't be an independent country called Taiwan, you wouldn't stand for that truth."
Kushner: Well, yeah, yeah well that was a truth that didn't conflict with one of our strategic interest."
Kushner: We went forward and e were able to create the peace deals. Then we moved forward in the region and we felt SA had the ability to do a normalization deal. And we had worked with the Biden Administration in order to, um, in order to help them, ah, get that pathway to follow the pathway we were in. So now you forward three years to the attack which was awful."
Kushner: "One of the biggest misperceptions of America is the American journalist are not paying attention to what's happening there. (In SA) It's one of the most exciting transformations in the world and you think about why I am a believer that in Gaza and the West Bank, there's hope to transform their societies, and take the people right now people say they're all radicalized, how can we transform them, look at what's happened in SA over five years. So you think about them in the context of a um, kind of like the 21st century and how we'll look at it, I think, I put half in the context of extremism and radicalization that we're not having to deal with because of the way he's taken SA in a different direction. I think, that, funny in politics, you know again, you look at some of things saying oh well we're going in and solving the problem, we're going in to solve a border crisis that we basically created, right, here he's spending a lot of time and effort and risk to have avoided what I think are massively, potentially over uncomeable problems."
Sure sounds like self confessions, and motives to me.
