I don't think, and am not convinced he doesn't think along the same lines, that what's left of his base will leave him over picking Haley. It's a long shot that he will but this isn't about his base, it never has been, this is about the future and turning it over to the globalist minded younger generation, of which Haley seems to be attracting. That's why he'd betray his base again, there's more younger people to gain by it, his base will just follow in lock step like they already do.
