My kids are part Indian, the way they run things they aren't much better. When I found out he was getting Indian casino money when my kids were young, the FOC sent them a child support enforcement letter. They refused to enforce it. Can you imagine leaving kids out of the fold like that.
My grand kids mom is 49% Indian, her dad was 99% Indian, that makes my grand kids 14% Indian on her side but you have to be 15% or what they term a quarter blood, to get Indian casino money. Unlike my kids dad she gets quite a bit, she's in one of the more successful tribes, but that leaves the grand kids out of not only the tribe but any insurance benefits offered by the tribe. A little bit ago I got my kids family history tree finally and am researching it to find if I can locate an additional 1% to push them over the edge, the tribes are all part of the same tribal group called the three fires, that in itself may push them over in regards to being quarter blood Indians but will the tribe accept it we don't know yet. I think this whole blood quantum thing is a bit nuts when you are leveraging against a percentage point. How they come up with these things I have no idea. The other two tribes, one will accept them, another, like hers, you have to link in directly to that tribe. So in my son's lineage I would have to find 1% of her tribe as having someone who married into a member of his tribe. Not totally impossible given it was evidently 1% of someone having married into her tribe that knocked them out....of course I am guessing at best that's how it went down. How you can be 1% married into something has to be pretty bad in my opinion, was it just a sperm pump and dump or what....lol.
