It was the rudest place I'd ever visited. Cars piled bumper to bumper on every street, you hesitate for one moment and they are blaring their horn at you. Ask people for directions and they just stare at you. Tents upon tents of vendors set up on the sidewalks selling stuff. Upon leaving we stopped at a gas station to ask which way to get back onto the highway and the guy just looked at us and said he didn't know. I finally blew up and asked what the heck was wrong with people in this town, told him I never met such rude people in my life. Than he told us how to get back to the highway. We had a very thorough map of the whole trip my brother in law at the time made, DC was the only time we got off track because people expected you to move in sync with the bumper to bumper traffic so no one could edge a fender in between...because they will if given a chance, lol. We were going to go to NY to see the statue of liberty but being the only driver I told my kids there was no way I could handle traffic that was worse than what DC was. It was a horrible, despicable place.
