They haven't been common in the city for years unless you live on the outskirts of the city. We suffered a lot of cricket and bee loss I think to two neighbors who moved in a few years after I did that would have their lawns sprayed for insects in the summer months. One finally moved about three, four years ago and the other I think passed away. I think a related family member still lives there but I never see those signs posted anymore warning about new application of insecticide.

I had noted that to someone on here once about the bees and they suggested putting out a bee bath to attract bees. They have been making a come back slowly and they frequently use the bee bath. I know this will sound sort of ironic but I've been painting my house. Some wasp built a nest up near an area my son was painting. He was real nervous about the wasp who came flying around him. It wasn't like a hoard of wasp, five, six of them kept flying around him. I wanted to tell him he'd probably be okay with just those few around, otherwise even I would have told him to get down. He than said to me they don't seem to be dodging at me and that's when I told him they probably, like a lot of the wild life around here, don't view you as a threat threat. I told him I know this is going to sound weird but the wild life knows somehow who helps them, that's why when one gets injured they usually show up here. With the bees they know you are trying to help them sustaining them with water. I said I'd been the first one to tell you to get down if they were swarming and dodging you. For as long as he was up there I think he got what I was saying and trusted me on that as he went about painting and they went about just making sure that's all he was up to, like he wasn't actually going to mess with their nest or try to kill them.
