I don't spend a whole lot of time on FB compared to when it was more popular. I spent a good year on there marking every ad in my feed with not interested before they evidently realized they weren't ever going to sell me anything and I very seldom see an ad anymore. When they first went to putting ads in feeds it was pretty bad but the persistence paid off. I did the same thing with spam calls, turned them all into the do not call list and now maybe I get a couple spam calls a week compared to a slew everyday. I stayed on them like religion like they did to me and it worked. I am surprised to see the number of sites that carry those so called sponsored ads at the bottom of their sites. Internet 101 is never click on those ads yet even, as you mentioned, sites you wouldn't expect them to be on they are on there.
