Use to be great to put stuff on curb and people would come by and take it. Good luck with that anymore. I had a tenant once moving out and my brother was sitting on the porch. My brother said do you know they have bedbugs. He had mental problems so I thought he was making it up. I asked them do you guys have bedbugs and they said no. About an hour later they are carrying on mattresses holding them as far away from their bodies as possible with gloves on. I said you really do have them and they admitted it. I was so paranoid they'd come next door to get me now they were gone I slept on the front porch and in my car until the exterminator could get here. It was a four month battle to finally get rid of them. It was only guaranteed but only for three months service. I asked them why and they said because if they keep coming back than chances are people are bringing them back in from somewhere else. So at the end of three months I said it's guaranteed and no one's living there so they had to keep coming back until they were gone. Good luck to you because they hide everywhere, especially behind woodwork. I'd think they were gone and I'd go back over there to paint and one would come running out of the woodwork at me. He told me though that they wouldn't have been able to smell me next door, they are attracted to carbons or something when you breath, he said they are also "homies" . They cluster together in one place each night, when one area gets to many they expand out into another, each night they only go out about twenty feet searching for food than they go back. Creepy. I lived in a house when I was little that had cockroaches, it was so bad they'd crawl over you at night or drop off the ceiling into your food.
