Concerning the baby food contamination I was down to a city commission meeting last summer for an unrelated topic but there was some people there to discuss the issue of lead paint in older housing creating high lead levels in kids. They felt the city wasn't addressing the issue strong enough with some of these landlords. I guess the city was having a hard time pin pointing lead based paint in some of the houses. I had just come off fresh on an article about arsenic and lead in baby foods the day before so before I spoke on the issue I was there about I made mention of the study that was done that found unacceptable levels in baby foods and particularly in those baby snacks. It was a real bingo minute for the commissioners, a couple of them their jaws about dropped. They'd probably still be trying to beat their brains to death figuring out why they can't find lead paint but kids were testing positive for lead if I had never seen the article and brought it.
