My problem has always been with exacto knives, not that anyone ever takes them it's finding one when you need it, after you buy a new one you come across one of the other two dozens you find put here or there. I always know where to look for a tape measure though, I learned hard the lesson you are learning, that's why I keep them in my desk or dresser drawers....places other people can't readily see them to wonder off with....lol.
