I know right! I woke up this morning with the news blaring how the vaccines will keep you from getting and spreading covid. Dr. Rand Paul was at it again with the evil Dr. Fauci though most people don't realize Rand Paul is the self described "congressional" doctor playing good doctor bad doctor game with Fauci. Upon investigation here's the report Dr Good Paul based his quip on:

Abstract
This study examined whether CD8+ T-cell responses from COVID-19 convalescent individuals(n=30) potentially maintain recognition of the major SARS-CoV-2 variants. Out of 45 mutations assessed, only one from the B.1.351 Spike overlapped with a low-prevalence CD8+ epitope, suggesting that virtually all anti-SARS-CoV-2 CD8+ T-cell responses should recognize these newly described variants

IT MUST BE TRUE!!!! Getting the vaccine will save the world. Rand Paul rebukes Fauci and says the vaccines provides protection against the virus and all it's variants so there should be no need for lock downs and mask.
But it isn't nearly the truth, the real truth is the evidence just isn't there that vaccines would or could provide the same protection as an innate immune response that ultimately in the end would have developed the t cells required to formally recognize the virus or any of it's natural mutations, if any, in the future and bring about a robust immune response to it. t cells are vital as they are the last line of defense against invading viruses, there is no evidence yet to suggest that vaccines that develop a defense mechanism based off the spike protein actually will provide the formation of t cells within the cells to ward off the virus and it's variants if re-infected. You may not get as sick but vaccines will not keep one from being infected, re-infected or catching a variant. It's all hyperbole to try and convince those leery of the vaccine to get the shot. We've been there before as I recall they ended up retracting the story on hydroxychloroquine.
