The point being made was taking something the majority of people survive and experimentally through the use of unproven vaccines does give it the opportunity to evolve into something deadlier, a point they failed to address and continue not to explain in depth. When they say variants or mutate they leave out vaccine derived mutations, they leave people with the impression these are actually naturally occurring, that's as dishonest as it gets. The point isn't if it is or isn't deadly, if or are these variants going to be deadly, the point is leaving people blinded to the known consequences of under or over challenging viruses as the article links displayed.

I didn't want to get "real" political about it or to conspiracy laced but sticks to the facts. If I had I'd said that as far as Rand Paul sitting there promoting this as harmless at this point may be to late, not because the virus could have ran it's course like the flu but because they've done interfered with it....in other words it may be to late to backtrack and let it run it's course. It's a lot more than just Rand Paul left sitting there with egg on his face, I think many were taken in, that's if you can believe a doctor could be left there with egg on his face in the first place (conspiratorial)....maybe there's more to the overall big picture, you definitely can't rule it out or should I say I could believe that coming from a politician who isn't a doctor. To rest my case just name one variant they have laid claim to as having mutated naturally because you won't find naturally occurring being listed....that's because if this virus had the capability to be naturally occurring we'd ran across it a long time ago, it wouldn't have taken someone to find it in a bat cave hundreds of miles from Wuhan. The question now is have they opened a Pandora's box or do we still have time to reverse course. You can also go ahead and believe that they wouldn't be in cahoots to play us up against one another in a tug of war that ultimately could lead to be more detrimental but I am just to skeptical of a person, I'll sit and analyze from every angle before I am convinced of something. I just wanted to make a point not get lost on every conceivable angle.
