Last winter my dog ate a leaf off a large plant I have. I woke up and she had thrown up all over the downstairs, from the living room all the way to the kitchen...it was a mess. I though maybe he wanted some greens in his diet, he does tend to eat a certain type of grass out in the backyard during the summer so I gave him some broccoli in his food. It seemed to do the trick but then someone I mentioned it to told me dogs can't digest broccoli. I went and looked it up and sure enough it said you shouldn't feed broccoli to a dog. I knew chocolate was a no no, and read elsewhere you shouldn't feed dogs leftover food if it had onions in it but broccoli came as a surprise. During Thanksgiving they did a fact check on what leftovers you could give your dog, another big surprise was they said no garlic...I've read many stories where people said they gave their dogs a glove of garlic in their food to ward off fleas. I don't know if it actually works, I've never tried it.
