When one is young, impressionable and vulnerable being progressive may be the only thing that saves them. Though I still insist progressive is the wrong term to use in this case. I had many progressive stances during my lifetime particularly linked to my own fight of independence being a woman, especially given we were the generation that went into the work force after the Gloria Steinem led woman's movement, that was some rough stuff. She may have gotten the battlefield opened up but we were the first amassed troops across the battle line in the next decade that followed.
