It was the pressure the British government was placing on Ukraine after they lost a court case when they froze the assets of it's owner for corruption, money laundering after Ukraine refused to forward the information requested by Britain to move the case forward. Joe Biden was instrumental in getting the first case dropped as Shokin has testified to, at the time he was not the chief prosecutor but was told to drop his investigation. The top prosecutor retired and Shokin took his place. Britain's ambassador and other countries involved went to the UN and demanded the investigation be reinstated, under that pressure Shokin was told to start investigating again. That's when Joe Biden intervened and demanded the prosecutor get fired, Shokin refused to drop the case because of the pressure from Britain and other countries.
The Director of National Intelligence came out two days ago and flat out called Adam Schiff a liar. He made it perfectly clear there was no Russian involvement with this laptop. There's no secret "intell" that Adam Schiff is getting by being on the foreign intelligence committee and he's been called out for using that position to try and indicate that there is to save face.
