Except maybe there's no "power of human apathy" involved here, that is if one is inclined to think along those lines. Just as lucylin's post is rather naivete if we were to go there. I've long wanted to ever since the beginning of this virus fiasco when the president made some off the wall remarks about inheriting a broken system and making a statement that maybe we could open up some jobs for all these young people. Yes he actually said that because I barely was able to keep myself from falling off the couch. I was like who in the hell says something like that about a oncoming pandemic. Why? Why? Why?...has stayed stuck in my mind ever since. I think if one wants to try and even answer that they have to look at them as a whole working together because that's the only way all this craziness even works. The breakdowns and imbalances isn't about creating any apathy it's the direct opposite, it's about not having any apathy. The whole system is failure going into overload. Large cities can no longer sustain themselves dependent upon social programs and the working poor. So how do they change that without out cries of displacement, segregation and discrimination?...we let them tear it apart themselves, of course with some outside help but they are to angry to realize that themselves because we'll drive them into a fit of rage then let them take the reins from there. From the very beginning to the recent Trump has never been one to mince words about low life's and what they've done to the once hustling cities around the country. Now they are planning a world where the third, fourth generation offspring of those who fled the cities are systematically being planted to a return of once was. If they let them destroy what's there they don't show up with calls of discrimination, racism, segregation when developers show up and buy the empty lots left behind. It's quite the masterful plan, gentrification over the last decade has let them go only so far, land is tight in a lot of these area's and after a decade of rehabbing there's a need to usher in some more. Sort of the same thing is happening in the surrounding neighborhoods, systematically, by use of no eviction orders, they are forcing slum lords into foreclosure under a masterful plan in place that just enough at a time as not to create a similar housing foreclosure crisis as 2008. You open up a window time frame to allow for so just so many evictions while these developers buy up the foreclosed houses and the houses slum lords no longer find profitable enough that they eagerly sell out to the developers. They take them down to the studs, rehab them and plant some young people in them at ridiculous enough rents that keep the rag tag operations out. Just as you will see developers rush in and buy up destroyed properties, yes they will sound appeasing to the masses screaming and include some of what they call medium income range housing in, but they won't be the rag tags they'll still be on the lower economic scale but they'll have some sort of work ethic enough to support the growing business infrastructure. within the new gentification areas. I see it all the time, dozens upon dozens of homes being torn down to their studs and being rebuilt. Personally I've never been able to understand it, it's sort of reminiscent of a couple of months ago when I went and looked at a newly constructed house in an affluent township that was hidden back off a small road with one house that sat across from it sort of buried behind all the hustle and bustle of a busy strip. The only real downfall was the fact that every time you entered or left there was this junky trailer park that sat across the road, who wants to pay two hundred and fifty thousand to drive out and see a junky trailer park? That's what's it like around here, dozens upon dozens of new structures or old rehabbed factories/homes turned into luxury apartments in the middle of run down hood like neighborhoods...who buys/rents apartments/condo's in trashed up area's like that? I mean you really have to be indifferent, lack empathy, be a super snob if you ask me. But you know if someone touches one of the precious the whole police department shuts down until they find the perp, I guess they can find some comfort in knowing that behind their fortified fortresses they live in. You have to look at the whole scope, the whole picture and you can't get wishy washy about who you take out to achieve the agenda, up to and including taking out a majority of those collecting retirements and a few that are close enough to about to, that's a start to shoring up that failing system while opening up a few more jobs for our young people. Want to deal with climate change...accelerate the process to dropping the earths temperature...a virus should take care of that too or at least give the data needed to see the impact made from less travel. How else would you find if alternate methods outside of regulatory regulations on businesses or stop eating cows would work? Maybe it all is a grand scheme to accelerate/advance problems inflicting mankind....the riots and protest were just an unexpected bonus, they don't have to wait as long to conquer their once lost lands. Of course I don't normally sit around thinking in this manner, I probably never would have except for a few spoken words, how could I not, unless of course I was just as indifferent as those looking out from their balconies paying thousands of dollars to look down upon the hood.
