We, through the CDC were funding and organizing with other countries contingency planning and research in several countries if an outbreak should occur in anyone particular area. Trump ask the CDC to cut out wasteful spending so the CDC cut this funding and research from countries that were highly unlikely to see a pandemic originate from. You know it was like funding the planting of corn in the middle of the antarctic knowing full well it's never going to grow there....then he got blamed for these countries abilities not to be able to handle the pandemic when it struck. Logically you would think "when is it the US responsibility to plan for epidemic outbreaks in other countries"....it's not, it's their responsibility to plan for such a eventuality....now if an epidemic does happen in one of those countries and they are a poor country with an inability to deal with it and we offer them help that makes a whole lot more sense then handing them money year after year for something to research that will never originate from there.
