If I just lived through what China did to their people I'd be out buying up food myself. They just locked those people in their homes without regard to if they had enough food to survive. At this point I think China see's the ramifications of the global shut down of transportation and the ability to feed their people but evidently not enough to stop selling bats to eat at wet markets. It's not like China is incapable of forcing their people to stop the behaviors which supposedly (if you believe their version of the virus) caused the crisis in the first place. China has more than three times the people to feed compared to the US, after what they just did to the world I don't think there is a lot of sympathy for people who'd go right back to the same nasty habits seen in wet markets. They don't care about the world why should the world care about them. As far as I am concerned if they can't import enough food it's a direct result of their own behaviors and until they change those behaviors they will live with the consequences.

As far as the US is concerned there is talks going on to try and use some of the overstock on milk to make cheese for food pantry distribution. Yes I said overstock as the panic buying has quieted down so there's no longer a strain on dairy products so much so they've had to reduce the price of products to sell it quicker. We may see a few blimps here and there where prices will fluctuate for certain products as they readjust back to normal but our food supply is considered an essential service and be tended to accordingly. It's sort of like all these green houses and people on Facebook flipping out they can't go buy plants at the nurseries for their gardens....half the country can't even put a garden in yet but they are all acting like the worlds coming to a end. They all have a couple two, three weeks left of potential frost to worry about more so than worrying about getting plants. Like I said, despite a few blimps here or there things will eventually balance back out, the food supply chain will stock back up this fall as many people will be overstocked on many items they've bought allowing for the system to readjust.
