"Steem or no Steem, I am buying a house that requires a lot of renovation work and therefore, a lot of money injected into it. While my plans for Steem are still on track for the future, the current uncertainty should give many people a wake-up call as to what can happen in crypto and any investment. Remember, *never invest what you aren't willing to lose COMPLETELY.

It doesn't matter if it is money, time, effort or anything else of value you might consider putting in, there is always the chance to lose it all - and it is best to go in accepting this at the start."

Maybe in some foreign country but every dime of value people hold in their accounts Ned is ultimately responsible for here in the US as he deals with transferring this platform. Meaning if Tron should come out tomorrow and tell people they have to transfer to some worthless crypto (and I have no idea who, what, when, where or how of any of this) Steem/Steemit has to let every user whose account is based in the US for sure the chance to withdrawal all their funds. In other words investors have a right to opt out of the transfer. They don't have to take their money to another company and Ned legally has to assure them of an opt out period. You can't sell a monetary asset that belongs to someone else and the federal chairman has already ruled that when it comes to crypto they do hold value just as any fiat does. He made that ruling so people could move forward with pending lawsuits involving losses on the exchanges. I don't know what you'd be to worried about as it looks like you've already emptied your basket. People should have surmised something was up with all these big accounts powering down....now we know why.
