I had to be skeptical of this story as I've seen that picture somewhere before, though I don't remember where exactly I've seen the picture I just know it wasn't related to any feel good story, which when it comes to blogging sites ones on this magnitude you'd remember because it would be rare. So upon clicking on the source link my suspicions arose even more by watching the video linked at the bottom of the story. I don't know about you but the first thing that stuck me as odd was the fact I'd never seen video nor pictures of palm trees in Nebraska, especially one's that seem more reminiscence of something you'd see in like say Indonesia where you are more likely to see the type of structure pictured in the video. It does cam back to a more traditional Nebraska landscape but it's evident from the many different types of landscapes used through out the video, along side the presentation and vocals, coupled with the picture take above that this was all phooey.
Of course the next course of action was to google it. List of news sources was a dead giveaway that this was just a feel good click bait story as no legitimate news sources was listed. About a half dozen listings down I came across this story:
To me, therein lies where this story really came from even though it's this story that calls out the story you presented. My reasoning is that despite the claims made in this story that they often call out fake stories and go on to explain why they are click bait stories that they also have a vested interest in calling out this particular story as they are auctioneers of farmland. So, in my humble opinion, they would stand out as the one's with the most vested interested in creating a fake farm auction story so they could highlight their expertise is knowing why such a story would be fake, thus planting confidence in them as a firm who knew what they were doing when it came to selling at auction.
Time spent on this wasn't a total loss as the story I linked here was, at times, pretty humorous. Never can have a day where more than one laugh is too many.
