Trump is a master at cause and effect. His foray out into public is to show his supporters what he is up against in the terms of the number of people who'd like to see him out of office. This is vitally important so people don't get lacks when it comes to turning out at the polls. Even though some are mixed in their response it still shows what area's are going to be a battleground to overcome.

It's hard when you have people like you who totally don't understand circumstances involved and will just wing it which causes outright distortions of the truth. If you can't take the time to research what you are saying then you ought not say it because in the end it makes you a bigger liar then he is.

What Trump was found guilty of in the veterans case was using his campaign staff to host a fundraiser where the money was put into his private charity fund. You can't mix political campaign activities with charitable events through a tax exempt charity. All the money went to veterans organizations, the violation was using his campaign staff to organize and distribute the funds after they were deposited into the foundation. That no way implies he kept or used the funds, as a matter of fact that is why he didn't face any punitive damages, which would have been on top of the fine for using his campaign staff to distribute the funds as the judge made note all the funds did reach their destinations of being distributed to veterans groups.

Here is a list of where that money went:

As far as the picture of himself Trump did donate the picture to a charitable event. To start the bidding off he bid on the picture but no one topped his bid and he got stuck with it. Yes it would have been perfectly legal to use funds from his foundation to pay for the picture if someone hadn't taken it out of a closet and hung it up. That made the difference. If that picture was still sitting in a closet today they could have never found a violation there.
