"Regulations" is the real key word here. I giggle every time I see articles such as these. All's we need is a bit of electricity and there's no way of stopping us. lol. Those who'd think along those lines could ask Gadaffi how well a plan of forming a monetary system independent from the norms worked out for him...if he was still alive. Ultimately any cypto currency that survives a due course will always be subjected to be pegged to whatever currency governments chose to allow or regulate. If there's ever a full implementation of crypto's as a means of everyday fiat it will be one chosen by governments, all others will either be banned or pegged to those crypto's like they are pegged to current fiat. They are only as good as the next batter up...

...so to speak. Cypto's aren't even as much of a real threat right now to the monetary system like China and Russia tentatively seem to be...if they were to succeed I'd lay my money on them not even making it up to bat.
