Seems to be a topic of interest as there was another post on a different blog site after Rep Gehmert said the same thing.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said on Thursday that House Democrats’ ongoing inquiry into the president's dealings in the Ukraine is “about to push this country to a civil war if they were to get their wishes.”

I think you have to look within the context of his other statements to see why he'd make such a statement...

He went on to call the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into Trump a “sham” and echoed concerns from other Republicans about the Democratic-led House closing hearings and depositions for the ongoing inquiry off to just members serving on select committees, of which Gohmert is not a member.

Gohmert also complained that there were “armed guards outside of the sensitive, compartmented information facility, the SCIF,” where depositions from witnesses testifying as part of the inquiry took place.

"Never in the history of this country have we had such gross unfairness that one party would put armed guards with guns to prevent the duly authorized people from being able to hear the witnesses and see them for themselves," he continued.

That's a pretty meaningful context and you'd think it would concern every American that this is being done in that manner....that just leads to suspicions that there is something not right with this process. Every American who wants to should be able to assess for themselves through live televised testimony whether they believe a witness testimony to be reliable. Facial expressions, body movements, word placement-hesitations, etc., all play a crucial role in any trial. People don't want to see this transcribed to them they want to come to their own conclusions based on what they see in real time....not possibly altered or spoon fed in portions that may not accurately reflect what was said.

If you go through some of the comments you'll see there are plenty of people who think this process of denial is perfectly okay as long as their objective is met at the end, removal of Trump from office, they are willing to fight to defend an undue process just as you'll see many who claim they'll fight against undue process.

Ultimately in my own opinion I don't think we'll see civil war at this juncture of time if he was removed, civil disobedience would be more likely. Just in case Antifa may want to trade in their cement laden milk shakes for something a bit more substantial just in case they decide to go confront those doing the civil disobedience.

I think civil war is inevitable down the road, more than likely not in my lifetime but I can see a nation that fractures and divides itself in the future.
