I just want to give you a heartfelt response to all this. With the changeover you've gotten a new light to carry on. All that negative flagging went away. What is going on here is not your battle to fight but just that of a right to give an opinion, preferably calm, cohesive thoughts of remorse for whatever the embattled poster is going through and perhaps state whatever aspects of that you feel comfortable aligning yourself with in support of them. Not many would have a problem with someone expressing an opinion versus an all out verbal attack that just escalates and draws you into the fray. Whether in the outside world or a blogging platform, words have consequences, use them wisely to your advantage not your disadvantage.
