White males don't "have the means" for reparations
That's a matter of perspective. We are a nation indebted up to our eyebrows but the poorest minority people who feel they've been left behind over decades of repression and racism don't view it from that angle, they also often will not admit complacency of those who sold them for profit into slavery. Even if they did you can't squeeze money out of a turnip. They look to those they assume have the means. You have to remember that a lot of people think along the lines that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence but if that grass is financed through the roof they don't see that part of it.
White privilege isn't real.
Again, matter of perspective. I am not benefiting from any white privilege from what I can see. I am with you on there's just as many poor white people as minority people. Work force, schools are pretty well integrated, I am positive there's still pockets where discrimination based on race exist but that extends on both sides the fence. There's a tortilla manufacturer over by a predominately Hispanic neighborhood, it's said that not only are the majority of his employees Hispanic's they won't hire you if you can't speak Spanish. Go into the businesses over there the number of Hispanic's far outnumber any other race employed. When you visit most corner convenience stores owned by Arabs or Indians from India the majority are staffed by other Arabs or Indians. Even when you go to minority owned businesses such as bakeries, grocery stores, mechanic shops the vast majority of their employees are the same ethnicity. My son when he was working temporary employment services he was sent to a place at the time called CSA Foods, a large manufacturer of food products, they had a Mexican supervisor, when they would over send the number of people required for the days operations she always choose the Mexicans over the whites sent there. Always. Always so much I turned them in, it took the feds two years to show up and bust them for having illegals there. At the time he didn't have a car so I had to drive him so I didn't appreciate that, especially since sometimes I'd get home just to get called to go pick him up. There were times he'd have to wait around for almost an hour to find out what lines would go up and who'd get picked so I had to resort to sitting in the parking lot....so I also turned them in for being in violation of the labor laws. If they engage you on their behalf they have to pay you for that. You'd think you wouldn't have to force people to pay for inconveniencing people on one's behalf but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. What we find here is just another case of do as I say not as I do, reverse discrimination is real and it's not one sided. Given the opportunity and chance they'll do exactly the same thing they accuse others of doing.
It's interesting that you say women are struggling so much and yet you excuse >all of the horrible things happening to men as the cause of globalism
If logic prevailed it would be that if women are seeking shelter in a homeless facility it's because they to are suffering from the effects of globalism. As they, just as the men who were once in their lives can't carry the financial burden placed on them with the wages they are making.
but anything happening to women is the fault of men and the patriarchy.
But anything happening to women....there are so many variables in there it's hard to find a place to start. One can't assume what happens to a women falls solely on the back of a man domestically speaking. There's that little forgotten thing called personal responsibility for the choices one makes but there's also that thing called circumstances prevailed. These things all play from the strengths or lack there of from each individual. There's those who will build from a solid foundation and then there's those who'll cling to each other out of necessity...and that rarely works out. In the latter patriarchy rarely plays into it because it was never instilled in them to begin with. These are often the men
who will find it the easiest just to walk off and desert a woman, even those with family. They lack the confidence and strength often associated in the terminology of a patriarchy, they've never been taught or developed a mindset that a man is considered the standard barer for a family. I guess you can argue all day if that's his fault, her fault, his mothers fault, his fathers fault or her mother and fathers fault, failure of society, globalism, whatever...but somewhere in that mix lies the answer, to many variables to want to fathom a guess. Sometimes there is no easy answers yet people will look for one and attribute as stemming from one general flaw other than their own. On the opposite end of the spectrum, relationships built on a solid ground it is often these men who are taught a man never leaves his family, he should be the strongest, he should be the provider, though it's rare it's these men who often commit suicide rather than walk off on their responsibilities, most will find a way to overcome the adversity facing them but I would assume it's few of these men who could face their conscious by walking off, these are the majority still, they are the reason for the patriarchy labeling.
People who are for feminism suppress the information that men are suffering >by and large across way more variables than women
I didn't do that, I actually told you that historically homeless shelters in this country were built predominately for men. Therefore historically it would mean that men have and are suffering. I don't necessarily think it's being suppressed as much as it plays into the expectations of patriarchy, it's hard for people to break a standard or at least I think that plays into it. They are afraid that if they give their approval more men will just let go. They don't want the public to see that, they don't want to openly acknowledge it, to them it could potentially make the matter worse. It's like this ugly little secret and if it gets out we'll have men dropping out of society left and right. That would be my opinion on why it gets ignored and especially why most of these shelters for men it has taken churches to step up to the plate to support. This may also be why men don't have the same resources to counseling services as women do as these shelters are provided for by ministries.
I think women get more access to programs supported by federal grants because these grants are specifically aimed at those who suffer harm through domestic violence or rape. I do not believe outside of the incarceration system that men are raped more than woman, you'd really have to prove that one as I have never even heard of such a thing. I can believe that to be true in the prison system but in all due honesty if you don't want to put yourself in harms way then don't break the law otherwise when one gets there the best advice one could give is go in ready to beat the hell out of someone to send a message not to mess with you...at least that's what my brother says, he should know he's spent more of his life in then out. The prison system is a world unto itself, once those doors close you are in a whole new world. Women also get more help because of children involved, children should always take priority over anything else. Do I think men get lost in some sort of taboo? More than likely. Do I think the lack of support or help is because men have to rely on private instead of federal programs for help? That is a huge likelihood as they often will look to faith as a healer and funds are limited for operating such facilities.
Your rebuttal is that work environments aren't as ideal for women in men >dominated environments? What about men in women dominated >environments? More sexual assault happens to men, more online harassment. >The list goes on and on.
I think you are way off base on those assessments, probably better you stay off those topics especially given what you said at the end. It's a total lie that men are harassed more online, even here on Steemit one women quipped once she was giving up being on discord because unless you were willing to talk dirty or show a little tit you got ignored. The vast majority of the workforce is not dominated by women therefore the instances of sexual harassment of men by women being greater couldn't be statistically true. No one's saying it doesn't happen just that you are way exaggerating.
That fact that some people of either gender will do anything to advance their >career has no part in this conversation.
It has everything to do with it when it comes to sexual harassment, they are just as complicit as men and they should face the same consequences. If you are going encourage an environment that affects the ability of others to succeed you need to lose your job not them.
That's just a reality.
Believe me I know it. I had everything I worked so hard for stolen from me because of it, my life utterly destroyed. Something you wouldn't understand being a man.
