I have a small plastic coin bank that has some random weird coins in it but I have not opened it in a few years. Today I decided to pop it opened and I found this!
Yep, that's a $1 roll of nickels :D
It's not just that, though, it's a roll of nickels from Slots A Fun casino in Las Vegas...from the 90s!!
Anyhow, back to the nickels. Casinos use to have shitloads of coins because the slot machines use to take only coins. They had coin rooms with multiple counting/wrapping machines. Imagine the noise in those rooms!
Slots A Fun was a kick-ass little one room casino next door to Circus Circus. It's really just a crosswalk through the parking lot from Circus Circus. They use to have a deli counter with foot long hot dogs for a buck. That was in the 80s. I remember staying at Circus Circus with my brother and our folks and walk here with my pop to get the one dollar footlong dogs.
So this little roll is a memento of that time, guess I'll keep 'em rolled up :)
