Our local library has some memberships to local attractions like museums so today the little one and I headed out the the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center.

Located on a bluff above the Columbia River it is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

We have a brick in there somewhere but it was well over 10 years ago that it went in and I can't find it! :(

I enjoy the ice age excibit quite a bit including these skull replicas.

20200304_105957.jpg The skull in the foreground is a modern black bear and the one behind was the giant short-faced bear.

And check out the ice age beaver skull next to a modern one.

FA-HOCK!

Most of the rooms/exhibits are permanent but they did have an area with some new lithographs of old steel engravings from the mid to late 1800s that were really nice.

The photo does not do it justice but as a former Spokane resident I really enjoyed seeing this one of the falls that are now surrounded by downtown Spokane

This main room is a big draw for all types of parties including weddings.

Definitely worth an hour or two if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood. 馃憤
