You ask a very good question in how many founding fathers were lawyers and I never really have looked at that until you asked. Wiki says that 45% of the signers to the Declaration of Independence were lawyers. Which doesn't surprise me one bit.
We are in deeper trouble here in the US than most realize or care to admit too when it comes to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We are like a bunch of drug addicts or alcoholics who won't admit they have a problem, keep acting the same way, and hope the problem will just magically disappear.
