When certain age groups, like tens years and under, are excluded it tells me that things aren't as bad as the officials are making it out to be. Another way of looking at it is that they may want to keep it circulating and exempting that age group would give a potential 10% of the population, if not more, a chance to do it without much notice.
Last I heard they still are allowing day care centers to be open so having one kid that is positive could end up spreading to several families through the other kids that one kid comes in contact with. Let's keep in mind that there are a lot of families that rely on day care because both parents work or are single parent households.
Things just don't add up in my opinion.
The officials keep pointing to the rising number of cases but never mention the fact the numbers of tests being done have increased several fold weekly. One thing that would show a better picture of what is going on is if they would say the total number of tests each week and how many tested positive and conversely how many were negative. I am not seeing that here on the news.
I do know that they are making a big deal about ICU space at the hospitals here and one station had a hospital official on and interviewing him live. The reporter ask the official what % of capacity their ICU was at and the official said 93%.
The reporter assumed that the majority had to be COVID related but when he asked the official and the response back was 15% the station quickly dropped that live interview. That was during the 5:00PM news, the wife watched the same channel for the 6 & 9 PM news and that interview clip never ran again. So some quick math tells me that 75% of the beds in use at that ICU aren't COVID cases and that doesn't make for a "good" news story.
The businesses here had 5 days to post and implement their "store policy" so today is day 6, now we will see if the cops are going to ticket these businesses that allow people in without masks. Up until today they could only be warned.
