Just wanted to share my old artworks.
I drew these Geishas after I visited Kyoto, Japan. I used acrylic, watercolor, pencil and oil pastel. It's quite rough though.
First, just wanted to share more information about Geishas since there had been a lot of misunderstanding about them, especially among non-Japanese individuals. Geishas are highly skilled performers that usually appear during formal gatherings like dinners and other high-end events. In spite of the rumors and the pop culture portrayal, Gesihas are not women who offer their bodies in exchange for fee. These women have trained for years and perfected their art of entertaining their audience.
Just a heads up, we all know that technology and social media have had an important impact on the kingdom of Japan, lot of Geishas prefer not to develop with the latter day. A starter or an apprentice Geisha are not permitted to use mobile phones (ketai or denwa) in Japanese, however they keep up to date with current affairs in newspapers.
