May I take the oppotunity here to respond to this post with an appeal for loads more information on where it's best to go, for a more permanent stay, in this stunning country! (Clearly it's what Portugalcoin does every day, tempt us to visit Portugal, but I am hoping for someone to react more specifically to my inquiries). I wonder if there is a better community out here on Steemit I might appeal to, would you know?

In dire need of salt water for my friend, or at least a sparkling lake close at hand, and plenty of sun for us both and much peace and quiet for him to recuperate from some serious physical ailments, I am looking to emigrate to Portugal, so this post surely caught my attention.

A cascade of questions in response to the promising pictures! Where might one find relatively affordable properties around here (land inwards probably)? Would there be a welcoming community for expats (I presume nobody can be as xenophobic as the Brits)? A need for English speakers specifically around the nature reserves (tour guides/translators/administrative functions in conservation work)? And would the sea be as inviting to swim/dive in as it looks to the inexperienced me? (I guess the Atlantic gets nippy around winter time?). Would an ultra experienced deep-sea diver & sailor (of all vessles) be particularly useful in a sea-faring nature or tremendously superfluous?

Currently we have very vague options in Cascais (but too expensive really) or we are hopeful there might be some realistic opportunities around Oporto.

I am sure Portugalcoin are not a travel or estate agent! Let alone an immigration service. But who knows who might read your post and the comments and might pick up my request for more tips and tricks....
