Some days back I wrote a post in The Weekend community about school friends, how important they are and how much I miss them.
Yesterday evening I got a call from one of my school friends. She told me that they have set up a plan to meet at one of the friend's places today and compelled me to come there. I was excited but at the same time, a little disappointed because it was a weekday and I had multiple calls throughout the day. I told her that I would definitely try to come but it was difficult because of the office.
I almost canceled the plan and then I got a meeting cancellation note from my manager, saying he wasn't well and would want to move the meeting to next week. I almost jumped with happiness (I wasn't happy for my manager of course). But this meant I now had the chance to meet my school friends.
I immediately asked my househelp to pack Raag's diaper bag and prepare lunch for my husband. Meanwhile, I completed all my pending work. And then, we left.
We took the metro to avoid getting late because of the traffic. Delhi traffic is really bad and can get you stuck on the road for hours. Fortunately Raag slept before we left, and he kept sleeping in the metro as well.
When I reached there, I saw my friends and it felt ecstatic. I hugged all of them. I met them almost after 3 years but it just felt like good old days.
Back then, we were all kids and now we all have kids. All of us are mothers now. Raag was the eldest in the lot, there were 3 more kids, they were actually 2-3 month old babies.
We sat on the sofa and chatted for hours. We ordered food from outside to save any trouble for the host. It was hours of useless chatting, remembering old days and obviously talking about our kids and momlife.
The best thing about my school friends is that no matter after how long I meet them, it just feels the same, like we can still dress in our uniforms and go to school.

We made some beautiful memories today. We won't be able to meet for a long time now because one of them is in Hyderabad, one is in Chandigarh. Two of us stay close by but due to kids and covid we didn't meet for a long time.
It was a good day overall. Came back home tired and sleepy. Raag had a lot of fun too.
