Both the Republicans and Democrats are to blame, politicians create laws and regulations and the Federal Reserve is a government organization, if we had competent politicians they would create an economic system that does not only benefit the wealthy.

Most governments in this world use fiat currency systems supported by central banks because they want the ability to create their own currency as they wish. They would never go back to a gold standard fixed currency system because that means they would actually have to do their job and tax the rich to make sure government workers/politicians get paid. In a fiat system they will always get paid because they just create more money to pay themselves and pay for the pointless wars they start...
