Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) wants to know if Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, has a gambling problem. “Have you ever sought treatment for a gambling addiction?” Whitehouse asks pointedly as part of a series of questions submitted this week about Kavanaugh’s unexplained personal debts.

My thoughts on this news
These are actually some very interesting questions about Kavanaugh's past financial history. He was never asked about this during the hearing but Sheldon Whitehouse has submitted these questions in writing and Kavanaugh will have to respond in writing. There are definitely some irregularities in Kavanaugh's financial history of unexplained debt and bank account balance increases. One of the explanations for his debt one year is that he bought baseball tickets for his friends valued at tens of thousands of dollars, which I suspect is a lie. It will be interesting to read his response to these questions, could these be signs that he is a serial gambler? Hopefully we will find out.
