I've already mentioned that I bought five used John Green novels before. I was curious about why I couldn't read John Green's The Fault of Our Stars, so I wanted to try again. Then I came across this novel—Looking for Alaska. I had planned to read it last, but something more interesting was the fact that it had been made into a series. Told from the perspective of Miles aka Pudge, he befriends the Colonel—also roommates with him, Takumi, and also Alaska. Alaska is a unique girl, who always has unique ideas too. They are friends and Alaska is the most interesting for Miles—who has never done anything extraordinary in his life, Alaska who then teaches him. Since then, Miles and Alaska's relationship has become closer and Miles' feelings for Alaska grow. Even when Alaska has a boyfriend, Miles starts to look jealous but in the end he agrees to go on a triple date with Takuma who still doesn't have a girlfriend. But after the fun with Miles' new girlfriend ends, Alaska secretly becomes attracted to Miles and accidentally challenges him to kiss her. After the kiss, Alaska rushes off and asks Miles and the Colonel for help to escape Elang's surveillance. But what happens the next day is completely unexpected. Unlike when I read Let it Snow and Khaterine—so it took me so long to finish it. But I can't blame John Green, maybe I'm just not good at understanding his language. So I won't give a bad impression of this book. In terms of premise, I really like the idea of Looking For Alaska, friendship, school activities, and also teenage years spent looking at crushes. All of it is like nostalgia for me. I really like the theme here. Yes, unfortunately, it is told from Miles's perspective only so I can't see the complete story. And yes, the thing I liked most about this book was when Alaska reported her own friend—who did indecent things in the dorm.
